BENDIGO TAI CHI CLUB Inc.

Est. 1983

The BENDIGO TAI CHI CLUB is one of the oldest continually functioning Tai Chi clubs in Australia. The Club was established by Master Alan Smidt, a senior student of the Melbourne Tai Chi Club at the behest of Grandmaster Kwong Ken Yue, one of the world’s leading exponents of Wu style Tai Chi.

Wu style is particularly renowned for its health benefits with many practitioners living long and healthy lives. Grandmaster Kwong Ken Yue says of the Wu style solo exercise that it

stretches the tendons and lubricates the joints”

And the late Grandmaster Ma Yueh Liang, a “gatekeeper” of the Club’s transmission of Wu style says

Diligent practice of Tai Chi will restore your youthful vigour. The old can capture the vitality of youth.”

The Bendigo Tai Chi Club follows traditional Chinese methods to teach the full curriculum of Wu style Tai Chi –
